Nokia serves North American X6 up for pre-order: $455 unlocked

Nokia’s downright seductive X6 just started shipping to those across the pond, and shortly after the company announced a Comes Without Music edition, along comes this: a NAM version for those who call North America home, sweet home. The pre-order page (which is live this very moment, by the way) makes no mention of a Comes With Music requirement, giving you complete freedom to shove whatever you darn well please onto what’s left of that 16GB after the OS install and a hidden ‘thank you’ note from Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. So, is that $455 peeking out of your Fifth Pocket really that important to you?

Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds camera now shipping for $600

Next month? Psshh. For those hankering for a slice of that oh-so-tempting Micro Four Thirds pie, Olympus’ new and improved PEN E-PL1 is now shipping (in blue and gold, anyway) from Amazon. If you’ll recall, the company told us that it wouldn’t be available until March when it launched three weeks ago, but hey, you won’t find us kvetching about early availability. For those who’ve forgotten, this compact camera touts the same 12.3 megapixel image sensor as the E-30 and E-620, and the $599.99 asking price also nets you a 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko zoom lens. Good luck resisting.

[Thanks, Ron]

Motorola Milestone now available on Telus, AT&T*

Two days earlier than expected, Motorola’s Milestone has become available to the public via Telus Mobility. For Canadians, that means that you can wrap your palms around one of the sexiest Android devices out for as low as $199.99 on a 3-year contract, while it’ll set you back $499.99 with a 2-year deal, $549.99 with a 1-year agreement or $599.99 outright. Americans — you should pay close attention that to last figure. A half dozen Benjamins (not including losses in currency conversion and the trip to go get one) will land you what’s essentially a 3G-enabled Droid for AT&T’s network. You know you need an excuse to go see the Yanks take the ice against the Canucks on Sunday, so you might as well snap up your dream phone before heading back from Vancouver.

*AT&T support hinges on one’s ability to procure a Milestone from Canada, get it back across the border, unlock it and slide an activated AT&T 3G SIM card into it. Godspeed.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Now Available [Now Available]

Beauty, love, ingenuity, forgiveness, and duct tape. This week’s Now Available showcases some colorful cameras, a brilliant and simple home networking solution, a redeemed 27″ display, and a tripod that turns your iPod Touch into bizarro Spiderman.

Panasonic GF1 (Colors!)

In the micro-four-thirds class of cameras this sucker is hard to beat. While these new colors definitely take away from the subtle Leica charm of the black model they’re still solidly built and reliable devices. Coupled with a nice list of compatible lenses and you have a pretty competitive system. For the time being these guys are your best bet in the nascent digital four-thirds camera genre. Oh, and look forward to more color options stateside since Japan just got these offerings. Check em’ out here.

Joby Gorillapod for iPod Touch

This malleable tripod comes from a purebred pedigree of handy and easy to use ultra-mobile camera accessories. Granted, those are designed for taking steady photos in awkward areas, while this guy is mainly used to provide convenient screen viewing on whatever you can perch it on. We’re big fans of Gorillapods here at Gizmodo, so the introduction of a model specific to the iPod touch is a nice addition to the product line—though not a must have day-to-day accessory. If you’ve been getting by rigging up a kickstand out of duct tape and your retainer it’s probably best not to mess with what works. For non-MacGuyver’s you can snare it here.

Belkin Home Base

With your ever growing list of tech peripherals it’s great to see a device that can help manage some of the chaos. The Belkin Home Base is rather remarkable in that it can adapt to whatever you wish to plug into one of its four USB ports. Your clunky printer under the desk can finally be moved and accessed remotely, freeing up some much needed foot room. That pile of external hard drives can be somewhat less of a pile if you take the largest and bulkiest and tether them into the Home Base. Really, at around $65 this thing should be a welcomed addition to clutter management. Save yourself here.

Dell 27″ UltraSharp U2711

Yes. This is the same monitor involved in our ongoing iMac saga. But as we’ve pointed out Dell’s version uses a conventional CCFL backlight as opposed to the iMac’s LEDs. Since the LEDs are the likely culprits in jaundiced iMacs it’s safe to go ahead and embrace these beautiful monsters. The $1099 price tag seems a tad high considering you can get a base 27″ iMac for $1700, but if a matte finish and beautiful 2560 x 1440 resolutions are your thing then grab it, here.

Spawn Labs starts shipping HD-720, your video games now ready to be slung

Hey, remember Spawn Labs? Look, we know last September was a long, long time ago, but how could you ever forget the box that essentially acts as the Slingbox for your video game consoles? The HD-720, which arrives with the ability to pass along either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 signals to a web-connected PC for remote playback, is now available to order for $199.95, while additional adapters can also be purchased for $39.95. Of course, you should make sure you have a pretty robust Windows-based laptop and a solid internet connection before getting your hopes up too high here, but if those are well taken care of, your portable gaming dreams are now just a credit card indention away.

[Thanks, Ryan]

Lenovo’s G560 and G460 laptops now available to order

Good news, laptop hunters! No, not those laptop hunters…. Anywho, two of Lenovo’s CES-announced machines are now ready for you to customize and order, with the 14-inch G460 packing a 2.13GHz Core i3-330M processor, integrated Intel graphics, Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1,366 x 768 resolution panel, 320GB hard drive, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, dual-layer DVD writer and a 6-cell battery. The 15.6-inch G560 adds a marginally larger LCD and, well, that’s it. Thankfully, both units get going at the same $799 price point, so choosing between the two really boils down to how awful your vision is. Got that, gramps?

Alienware now shipping 23-inch OptX AW2310 1080p 3D monitor

Just a hunch here, but we’re guessing that Alienware’s CES stash all hit the production line at right about the same time. During the past day, we’ve seen the company’s M15x, M17x and OptX AW2310 hit the shipping stage, the latter of which is the firm’s first-ever 3D monitor. Checking in at 23-inches and boasting a full 1080p panel, this one also packs a 3 millisecond response time, 120Hz refresh rate and stereoscopic support when NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision Kit is utilized. It’s up for order right now at $469, but if you follow that Logicbuy link down there, you’ll be able to snag it (for a limited time) for $449.10. Too bad that 3D kit will set you back another $200, but hey, no one said that witnessing the third dimension was cheap. Or remotely interesting. But mostly cheap.

Alienware’s Core i7-equipped M15x and M17x now available to order

Alienware didn’t drop too many details about how it was revising its M15x and M17x gaming lappies back at CES, but now both of those are finally ready to be ordered by the drooling masses. The “little” guy is available with a Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processor, your choice of a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M or 1GB GeForce GTX 260M, a 1,600 x 900 or 1,920 x 1080 15.6-inch WLED panel, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 250GB HDD (or a 128GB / 256GB SSD for those with the coinage) and plenty of lights to go around. The big brother can be ordered with a Core i7-920XM processor, dual 1GB GeForce GTX 280M GPUs (or a pair of Radeon Mobility HD 4870s), optional Blu-ray drive and pretty much anything else you can imagine. Follow the links below if you’re eager to be first in line — the M15x gets going at $1,199 (and should ship early next month), while the M17x starts at $1,799 with a Core i7.

[Thanks, Joshua]

Now Available [Now Available]

A trio of Toshibas, the newest Palm smartphones, and an FM transmitter that won’t make you want to tear your brain out. Start saving your tax return for what’s now available.

Toshiba Satellite E205-S1904
Toshiba’s new Satellite has launched. Our previous interactions with the Satellite series has left us decidedly underwhelmed. Mainly citing battery life and a wonky trackpad button as sticking points holding this laptop back from being truly great. The most exciting feature on the new model is the inclusion of Intel Wireless Display technology and a Netgear Push2TV adapter, allowing easy video streaming to your entertainment center. A simple way to watch Hulu in your living room is always a welcomed feature—especially on a laptop. Best Buy has these for the decently reasonable price of $899.99. For that price you get an Intel Core i5-430M CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 500GB of storage—along with the Netgear adapter. You can peruse it here.

Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus
These newest Palm offerings have finally landed on Verizon Wireless’ webstore. If you are a Sprint customer worried that you’re getting the shaft on these babies don’t worry. Aside from the RAM being doubled and a marginally improved keyboard the entire experience is more or less the same. Granted, these guys can run up to 50 apps at once, but that seems a tad excessive. Perhaps the most tantalizing facet of these little gems is their ability to become mobile hot spots, essentially showing where smartphones should be headed in the next few months. Add that to their soon-to-be-able ability to shoot and cut videos and you’ve got a pretty decent little device in your pocket. Buying it online also nets you a $100 discount. Get it here.

Toshiba Tecra A11 and Qosmio X500
In addition to the Satellite, Toshiba has also started shipping the Tecra A11 and the Ferrari-esque 18.4″-behemoth Qosmio X500. The 15.6″ Tecra A11 features an integrated number pad—for tax season I assume—and the standard duo of new NVIDIA and Intel hardware in it’s guts. It’ll set you back about $879 and probably not raise too many eyebrows. Tecra’s larger and more flamboyant relative boasts a bullish 2010 Intel Core i7-720QM quad-core processor and a GeForce GTS 360M. It can sport up to 8GB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive. This spicy specimen will set you back $1,549. You can discuss the irony of Blu-ray on a Toshiba or the fact that both of these are marketed as ‘business laptops’ in the comments. Get either one here.

Belkin TuneCast Auto Live iPhone FM transmitter
We’re not really on-board with FM transmitters as a whole, but at least this Belkin adapter makes transmitting to your radio via an iPhone a tad less cumbersome. What differentiates this from other FM transmitters is the inclusion of an iPhone app for direct control over the frequency. We’re surprised it’s taken this long to integrate a functional app into an FM transmitter, but it’s probably just a subtle statement on how annoying FM transmitters are as opposed to other connections. Reminisce the FM band here.

Now Available [Now Available]

Take a look at some gadgets we’ve only teased you with that are now shipping. A rugged and red Casio, an Olympus hybrid, an LG phone (with a butt), and an iPhone camera-mount shaped like a Batarang.

The Olympus E-P2 is basically a re-hash of the E-P1 with a few improvements. Most importantly it has a Continuous Autofocus (C-AF) Tracking System that follows subjects through the frame, addressing one of the E-P1’s shortcomings. There’s still no flash and—depending on your taste in camera colors—is painted black. $1100 may be a bit steep for this guy, but if you’re into the whole retro looking Olympus scene then this should satisfy nicely. Get it here.

CASIO Exilim EX-G1, the quintessential outdoorsy-action camera. It can withstand an impact from seven feet, operate underwater at 10 feet for a whole hour, and has a posse of shooting modes for fast action. It shoots decent enough video—though not HD—at 30 frames per second, certainly not a bad deal at $300. If you plan on hitting the slopes this season or snorkeling in the tropics be sure to consider this bright red specimen—its color should also make it easy to find in whatever satchel you chuck it in. Though if that’s not your thing it is also available in black. See it at Amazon.

The OWLE iPhone 3GS Video Mount certainly does look interesting. Seemingly designed with Xbox controllers and Batarangs as inspiration it’s clearly a unique take on iPhone mounts. Whether you want smoother video for high-octane events or a video camera that allows you to pistol-whip somebody into submission, this could be the ticket. Available here.

The LG Expo is the little smartphone with a fat ass. That’s because it has an optional pico projector you can click on the back to display images of your cat wearing pants at distances of up to 8 feet. In addition to the 1GHz processor shoved inside, this guy’s running Windows Mobile 6.5 on a 3.2-inch touchscreen and has a 5MP camera. It’s $200 on contract and an additional $180 for the pico. See it at AT&T here.
